Time shares and day wrappers

Lock revenue tokens for whole days, get one ERC-6909 unit per token per day, and wrap any day as its own ERC-20.

On this page

Time shares split a revenue token's income by day. Lock revenue tokens in a token's time shares and you get one time share per locked token for every day of the lock: an ERC-6909 unit whose id is the day, earning only that day's income, in every asset the token pays.

Locking

Anyone opens a token's time shares through the time shares factory. A lock runs for whole UTC days, from 1 day up to 3,650, or forever. The revenue tokens go back to the locker once the last day has ended; a forever lock never gives them back. Income the locked tokens earn outside their days, before the first day or after the last, belongs to the locker.

The locker issues each day's units when it likes, to any wallet it names, up to 366 days in one call. A day's units can be handed out, sold or kept.

Rolling

A roll claims the locked tokens' income and books it to the days it covers. Hookr's keeper rolls each token's time shares once a day, at 00:00 UTC. Hookr's keeper pokes each compounder about once an hour. Anyone can roll or poke from the token's page at any time, and a roll or poke that moves enough pays its caller a small part of it. A roll pays its caller only when it books at least 0.001 ETH.

Day wrappers

Any day can be wrapped as its own ERC-20 through the day wrapper factory, so a pool can list it and anyone can trade it. One wrapped token is one unit of that day plus its share of the cash the wrapper's units have earned. Wrap before the day starts, trade any time, and unwrap any time for the units and the cash. An unwrap while the time shares still owe that day an asset is refused, so no one takes the share of a later holder.
