Multi-pool launch
One token in several pools at once, one per quote asset: what a creator sets, which quotes a pool can take and how the pools trade.
One launch opens a token in up to 8 pools at once, each on its own quote asset, in one transaction. The launch's pools share one token, one root and one owner, who holds every position.
The token is a new one the launch creates, or one that already exists. For an existing token the launch opens new pools beside the ones it has, funded with tokens the creator holds, on Hookr's hook or on a hook of the creator's own. They take the same Hook Blocks except Tax + Conversion, which is offered on new tokens only, and no dev buy, supply weights, retained cap, tagline or logo.
What a creator sets
| Setting | What it does | Range |
|---|---|---|
| Pools | Each pool's quote, liquidity, range and Hook Blocks. No two pools share a quote. | 1 to 8 |
| Supply weights | The share of a new token's supply each pool opens with. | Off, or weights that add up to at most 100% |
| Opening check | Refuses the launch when a pool opens away from the first pool's price, read through a reference pool. | Up to 10% apart |
| Retained cap | The most of a new token the creator may hold once the launch returns. | 0% to 100% |
| Lock end | Keeps the launch's liquidity in its pools past the guards. | Up to 100,000 parent blocks after launch, about 14 days |
| Tagline and logo | A new token's presentation, written on chain once. | Tagline up to 160 bytes, logo link up to 300 bytes |
Quote assets
A pool's quote must be one the registry admits when the launch runs, and the launch refuses any other.
| Kind | What the registry admits |
|---|---|
| Native ETH | Always |
| Reviewed quotes | Each token Hookr reviewed, by its address |
| Quote classes | Every token whose code matches a reviewed class, such as the Robinhood stock tokens |
| Open quotes | While they are on, any other token contract, unreviewed |

How the pools trade
- Each pool trades on its own through the Hookr router and the Universal Router.
- The split router splits one trade across up to 8 of the launch's pools, all or nothing, with a minimum on every leg and on the whole trade.
- A leg on a pool quoted in another asset converts through a reference pool on the way.
- Each pool keeps its own Snipe tax and buy cap, so the launch's cap per parent block is the sum of its pools'. Launch every pool with the same curve: sells pay no Snipe, so a buyer picks the pool with the lowest tax.
Locks and ownership
The launch's liquidity stays in its pools until the latest of three: the last guard's end, any dev buy's lock and the lock end. The lock stops withdrawals only. Fees stay collectable throughout, and the owner can hand the launch's positions on in two steps.
Launch fee
Every launch pays the launch fee in ETH on top of its budgets, before any pool opens. It is zero today and at most 0.01 ETH. launchFee() on the launcher returns the fee now and any pending change.
