Core blocks
The Hook Blocks built into Hookr's hook that every new pool can run, what a creator sets on each and the ranges the contracts accept.
The core blocks are the Hook Blocks built into Hookr's hook, and every new pool can run them: Anti-Snipe, dynamic fees, Auto Burn, LP Rewards and a creator royalty. A creator sets each one's parameters per pool at launch, and the pool keeps them for good.
The blocks and their ranges
| Block | What it does | What a creator sets | Range the contracts accept |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anti-Snipe | Guards the launch window: only the launcher adds liquidity, and buys are capped per parent block and pay a Snipe tax. | Guard length, Snipe tax and floor, decay and curve, buy cap | Guard up to 100,000 parent blocks (about 14 days). Decay up to 1 hour, or the whole guard when it is longer. |
| Dynamic fees | Prices each swap on how far it moves the price from a reference price that trails the pool's own. | Top fee, sensitivity and tempo | Top fee up to 60%, sensitivity 1 to 10. |
| Auto Burn | Burns a share of every buy's output. | Burn share | Auto Burn and LP Rewards together up to 10% of a buy. |
| LP Rewards | Adds an LP fee on buys on top of the base fee. | LP Rewards share | Shares its 10% with Auto Burn. |
| Creator royalty | Pays a recipient fixed at launch a share of LP Rewards. | Share and recipient | Up to 10% of LP Rewards, on a pool with LP Rewards on. |
Sells pay no Snipe tax. The base LP fee and the Snipe tax together stay at or under 60%.
Snipe curves
A decaying Snipe tax falls from its launch rate to its floor along one of three curves.
| Curve | How it falls |
|---|---|
| Linear | A straight line. This is the default. |
| Front-loaded | Halves what is left to fall every eighth of the decay. |
| Step | Holds the tax in eight equal steps. |
The buy cap grows as the tax falls, so every parent block that fills its cap pays the same Snipe.
Dynamic fee tempo
Each dynamic fee pool can set its own tempo. A pool that sets none takes the defaults.
| Parameter | What it sets | Range | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| Window | How long the reference waits without a move before it steps toward the price | 12 seconds to 5 minutes | 30 seconds |
| Reset | How long until the reference steps even while the price keeps moving | 30 seconds to 30 minutes | 2 minutes |
| Carry | How much of its gap the reference keeps at each step | Up to 95% | 75% |
| Move | How far the price must move to count as a move | 50 to 2,000 ticks | 200 ticks |
King of the Pool
King of the Pool crowns the largest buy of each round and pays it a prize from the pot. A prize is at most 50% of the Hookr fee the winning buy paid, so a buy made only to take the crown loses at least the rest of that fee. It runs inside arb recapture, so it opens with it, and it needs LP Rewards or Auto Burn on the pool. King of the Pool covers who can take the crown, how a round closes and where the pot goes.
Whole-pot pools such as WTH/HOOKR run a second King of the Pool core where the round's winner takes the whole pot, with no prize cap and no LP Rewards or Auto Burn needed. See King of the Pool.
| Setting | Range | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Pot share of each arb recapture, after Hookr's cut | Up to 50% | 25% once on |
| Round length | 1 hour to 30 days | 1 day |
| Pot released to LPs after each round | 25% to 100% | 50% |
| Prize ceiling, as a share of the winning buy | From 0.01% up to 50% of Hookr's share of LP Rewards and Auto Burn | That bound |
| Least buy that counts, in the pool's quote | Any amount above zero | 0.01 ETH, 0.01 WETH, 25 USDG, 1,000 HOOKR, and 0.1% of the pool's quote depth on any other quote |
How a round runs:
- The biggest single buy in the round leads, and only a buy at or above the pool's least buy counts. To take the crown a buy must be bigger than the king's.
- A sell on the pool in the same transaction cancels a lead that transaction made. A buy after that sell, or one whose path crosses liquidity added in the same transaction, cannot lead.
- When the round's time is up, the next trade, arb recapture or limit order fill closes it, and anyone can close it too. There is no keeper.
- At the close the king is credited a prize from the pot, in the pool's quote, to claim from Hookr. A round with no king credits no prize.
- Each close releases its share of the pot to the pool's in-range liquidity, and the rest carries into the next round.
- The terms are fixed when the pool launches, like every other block's.
Hookr's share
Hookr takes the pool's protocol share of the Snipe tax, the dynamic fee, LP Rewards and Auto Burn, from 20% to 50%, fixed with the pool. The rest goes to the pool's LPs, or is burned. See Fees and the arb recapture split.
