Owned roots
Use Hookr's hook with a saved hook of your own, or deploy a Hookr hook at an address of your own.
On this page
Your blocks run on one of two hooks: Hookr's shared hook, or a hook of your own that you deploy from a saved hook. Either one opens pools for a new token, or new pools for a token that already exists.

What a saved hook does
A saved hook is a named set of blocks on Hookr's shared root: the features its pools may use, their caps, up to 4 advisory blocks and 4 gates, and whether its pools may carry arb recapture. Writing one costs gas only.
- A pool joins a saved hook when it names it at launch and its terms fit inside it.
- The saved hook's writer lists the pool, or anyone does for a public saved hook.
- The book of saved hooks holds no assets, and nothing on a swap reads it.
What your own hook does
- It is an unmodified Hookr root at an address of your own, made from a saved hook and registered in the same transaction.
- It costs gas only: the deploy fee is 0 ETH when the release opens, and the terms above show it as read from chain. Hookr's treasury can raise it later, to at most 1 ETH; a change waits 30 minutes and reaches only hooks deployed after it.
- It opens pools for everyone, or for its owner alone.
- Its owner can pause new pools on it, and hands the role on in two steps.
- Its pools run their own copy of the core blocks, deployed with the root, which pays Hookr's treasury at the release's share floor.
- The factory deploys at most 500 roots, and lists every one.
An owned root starts without arb recapture, and a pool opened on it without arb recapture keeps none, since a pool fixes its terms when it opens.
