Referrals
A trader binds a referrer once, and campaigns on a pool pay the referrer a commission and the trader cashback from the fees paid.
A referred trader pays nothing extra: a campaign's funder pays the commission and the cashback from a budget set aside up front, as shares of the fees the trader paid.
The binding
- A trader names a referrer by signing a binding, once per program, and the binding never changes.
- It counts from the next block on, so only fees paid after it count.
- A referral code is a permanent, first-come label with no effect on payouts: they follow the referrer's address alone.
- Binding your own address is refused. A second wallet of your own is not detectable on chain, so a campaign's rates are a rebate any bound trader can take.
A campaign
Anyone can run a campaign on one pool, the creator or a partner, funded in full when it is created.
| Setting | What it takes |
|---|---|
| Pool and fee | One pool, and either Hookr's share or the creator royalty, paid in the pool's quote |
| Length | Whole days, up to 366 |
| Commission and cashback | A commission above zero, the two together under the whole fee measured |
| Budget | A daily budget funded up front, and a cap on one wallet's fees a day |
| Reviewer | Any account but the attestor, with a review window of 6 days to 30 days |
How a day is paid
- After the day ends, Hookr's attestor proposes the fees each referred trader paid, within 90 days.
- The campaign's reviewer can veto the proposal during the review window, and for 5 days after it until someone finalizes it.
- Once it is final, the referrer and the trader claim. Anyone can trigger a claim to the person owed.
Budget a day cannot owe goes back to whoever funded it. A day nobody proposes lapses after 90 days, and its budget goes back too.
Stacking caps
All campaigns together pay at most 99.99% of one trader's fees on one pool, one fee and one day. On a pool with King of the Pool on, campaigns on Hookr's share pay at most 50% of it, so a prize and a rebate together never reach what the crown cost. A campaign over the cap pays what is left in its own split, and the rest goes back to its funder.
What the contracts cannot see
Each attested fee should be counted once across every campaign, and Hookr's attestor keeps that ledger. The contracts cannot see a fee counted by a second referral contract, cash from Programs, or the same fee claimed under another wallet.
